It’s been a while since I’ve shared my beauty routine with you all and I’ve recently added a few new products. Many of the products I use I have been using for years and you can read my reviews in previous beauty posts. However, some of the new products I’ve been using are game changers and it wouldn’t be right for me not to share.
I always start with a clean face and apply my vitamin C serum. This particular one is newer to my routine but since I’ve been using it for about 4 months now I can give you an honest review. I feel like it is much less drying than the dermatologist grade product I was using previously. I also use a retinol by this brand that I love. If my skin still feels a little dry I’ll add a light layer of my Charlotte Tilbury Magic Cream.
After prepping my skin, I apply my foundation with a Sigma F80 brush. I’ve tried literally dozens of foundations in my day but I feel that the Estee Lauder Double Wear provides great coverage and it’s just the right consistency for my skin type. I wear the shade Rattan for reference. It may not be “correct” but I apply my concealer after my foundation I do so by drawing inverted triangles under my eyes, applying to my eyelids and to any blemishes and blending with a beauty blender. I then set my undereye concealer with this Laura Mercier eye brightening powder using a Sigma F35 brush. This powder makes a world of difference!
After setting my concealer, I use a Sigma F84 angled kabuki brush to apply by bronzer. I use the shade Laguna for a warm summer-like glow. I apply it at an angle along my cheekbones and then around my hairline and make sure to really blend it in. The next thing I do is apply my blush (in the shade Orgasm) with a Sigma F40 brush to the apples of my cheeks. Once that is blended, I set my face makeup with the Laura Mercier setting powder using a Sigma F20 brush. Again, this product is a game changer! It really helps stop my makeup from transferring and to last longer. When I’m feeling super fancy, I’ll dust my face with the Hourglass ambient light powder in the shade Luminous Light using a Sigma F10 brush.
There are quite a few eyeshadow palettes in my collection but my hands down, most used is the Tartelette Toasted palette. I love the rich, warm colors and they all blend and wear so nicely. Using a Sigma E25 brush, I apply the shade latte all over my lid. I think very lightly dip my brush in the candle color and apply it to only the inner corners of my eyelid. Next, using a Sigma E70 brush I apply the shade flame to my crease and blend thoroughly. Using a Sigma E40 blending brush I apply a light dusting of the shade fireside to my outer corners. I also continue under my lower lashes with this same shade using a Sigma E20 shading brush. Using that same brush I blend in the same flame shade. Once I’m done with my eyeshadow I apply my eyeliner and mascara.
Recently I did an entire post about my favorite lip colors. However, the one I wear on almost a daily basis is Salt Lyfe by Tarte. It’s a creamy lightweight formula and the color is perfect for everyday but you can also build and layer it for a more dramatic night time look. It’s described as a “mauve grey” but it doesn’t appear that way on me at all.
The very last thing I do is apply sunscreen. I use this mineral duster powder and LOVE it. It lasts forever and works amazingly. Also, if you’re going to invest in nice makeup brushes, you need to take care of them. I got this cleanser and cleaning mat for Christmas and I’m obsessed.
