Happy Monday my friends! Can you guys believe Memorial Day is this upcoming weekend? My kids are out of school in less than 3 weeks and I am NOT prepared for this. If you haven’t started yet, don’t worry, there’s still time to get fit by summer.
Right now, I’m getting ready to take my NASM Certified Personal Trainer exam pretty soon and I am so happy I pushed myself to do this sooner than later. My original intent was to attempt to do it during the summer. With all of this being said, I’ve been putting what I learned to the test with this program I created for my husband and I. It has been quite challenging but a nice change of pace for me.
Since my body adapts quickly to the challenges I ask of it, this program changes every 2 weeks. This is a full body split training program to help you get fit by summer. It is a 4 day a week program with the option of an active recovery day. It’s important to also take some time to rest so that you can avoid overuse injuries and burnout. I’ve also found that I’m most likely to adhere to 4 day per week programs because I feel like I have an “extra” day to myself. My active recovery days are usually spent hiking and/or in a Yoga class. Flexibility and balance are also very important components of fitness so I like to take a class to unwind.

Here is phase 2 of the 6 week program. I prefer to do chest on Monday, legs on Tuesday, back/shoulders on Wednesday and arms on Friday. You may re-arrange the days however you’d like.
