It doesn’t take a lot of products or gadgets to get in shape but these are some of my favorite fitness essentials that I just couldn’t live without. I just wanted to update you all and let you know that my husband and I are 3 weeks into my Fit in 45 program and are already feeling stronger. Fitness is just as much of a much of a mental game as it is physical. It isn’t always all about having the leanest physique or being able to do the most deadlifts. Sometimes it’s just about you being the strongest person you can be : mentally, physically, emotionally and spiritually.
Last year, I set out to “be in the best shape possible”. I did achieve that goal however, my results were not maintainable. I was tracking macros religiously, meal prepping like a boss and spending up to 2 hours a day in the gym several days a week. As a busy working mom of 2 I just couldn’t keep up long term. I might have looked my best on the outside but I didn’t feel my best on the inside.
That is why it was my mission to design these training programs that were not only do-able but also maintainable. The whole goal is to find a healthy lifestyle that you can enjoy and maintain long term so avoid reverting back to old bad habits. As I said in this post, this year I’m focusing on finding balance and creating goals that are achievable and sustainable.
My two biggest resolutions for this year aside from improving my photography and growing my blog were to run 365 miles and hike 365 miles. If you’ve been following along on Instagram, you have seen that I’ve already started chipping away at those goals. I have logged 9 hiking miles and 6 running miles so far. Sometimes it’s also important to take a step back and remember that small changes add up to big results.
