If you’ve been following me for a while you’ll know that I am not a girl who wears a lot of makeup or likes to get glammed up on a daily basis. When it came time to take our family photos last weekend, I realized that I was running out of several beauty products. After a mini panic attack I trudged off to Ulta to pick up a few things. There are always so many new products to choose from in stores like that which tend to leave me feeling a little overwhelmed. I don’t like to look too done up so it’s hard to find products that match my lifestyle and not to mention complexion. I only intended to buy 2 products which turned into a mini beauty haul.
Fall Natural Beauty Haul
This stuff has SPF 50+ which is perfect for the endless amounts of sunshine we get here in Southern California and it’s very light and natural. It’s easy to apply and easy to blend and it doesn’t rub off onto my clothes. I apply it with a beauty blender and it gives me light to moderate coverage and feels weightless on my skin. I’ve been using this daily for about 2.5 years now and absolutely love it.
To be honest, I was only intended to buy a single pan of bronzer which was $30 and then I noticed this palette of 6 was on sale for $27 so I figured I’d give it a try. At first I was quite intimidated my the shimmer and wide variety of shades but I instantly fell in love. I’ve tried other bronzer and contour palettes that didn’t seem to blend and were stark and chalky on my skin but not this one. The colors look natural and easily blend into my skin in even the darkest shades and the shimmer isn’t to disco ball-esque. I am pleasantly surprised with my purchase.
Being someone who doesn’t wear a lot of makeup, I always feel goofy in eyeshadow. But since my simple shopping trip was turning into a beauty haul, I slid this into the shopping basket. I’ve been wanting to try the Naked basics palettes for a while but have been skeptical because I don’t love the regular palettes like everyone else. I have the regular Naked 1 and 2 palettes but the colors are just too glittery for me. These colors are silky smooth, blend very nicely and have awesome pigment. The colors also gave my green eyes just the right amount of pop and were easy to apply.
I hate the name of this product, I really do. But the product itself is absolutely amazing. I don’t have time for mascaras that require multiple coats or processes. That means I definitely don’t have time for false lashes. I have sensitive eyes so lash extensions are out of the question. This mascara gives the look of multiple coats of mascara or lash extensions in much less time. As a busy mom you can’t put a price on time. It’s non clumpy and doesn’t smudge up onto my face mid day. I’ve been using this for just over a year and it’s worth every penny.
We were getting our photos taken in the desert so I needed some extra color on my face to avoid looking washed out. This color gives me just the right amount of flirty flush and is easy to blend and lasts much longer than most others I’ve tried.
I will admit something right now, I SUCK at eyeliner. I don’t know why I just can’t figure it out. But again, since our photos were being taken in the desert, I needed the extra oomph. Reluctantly this product made the cut in my beauty haul basket. When I got it home I wanted to practice a little bit first and it was very easy to use. It has a superfine pointed tip for precise application but can also easily draw thicker lines as well. It is described as a liquid gel liner and it applied very easily unlike most other gel and liquid liners I’ve tried. This will only be used for special occasions because #time but I think it’s a great product.
