I hope everyone had a fantastic Memorial Day weekend. I definitely did! The weather was absolutely perfect this weekend so on Saturday we headed out to the beach. We also did some shopping and barbecuing of course! Click here to shop some of the awesome sales from this weekend, this one is still going until 6/3. As I’m sure you all know, we love going to Santa Barbara, but we decided to go somewhere different this weekend. Carpinteria is half way in between Ventura and Santa Barbara and is the cutest little beach city.
There are tons of places for beach camping and it is just a very cute laid back town in general. We have only been there 2 other times and have seen dolphins offshore every time which is always really cool. The beaches are also very well maintained. We spent a few hours lounging on the beach digging holes and collecting sticks before we decided to pack it in.
After the beach we tried a local brewery called Island Brewing Company. They had awesome beers and a really fun atmosphere. They had games for the kids, an organic ice cream cart and live music. We had a great time sitting on the patio and trying some new brews.
Before heading home we stopped at a little restaurant called Padaro Beach Grill. It is essentially a more upscale version of The Habit which originated in Santa Barbara and is owned by the same people. It is a super cool restaurant that overlooks the ocean and they have a sand pit with toys for the kids to play with. The food was so good and you can’t beat the ambience. I highly recommend it!
Needless to say it was a great time and we will definitely be going back. I always love finding new places that the whole family enjoys and plan to spend a lot more time out there this summer. If you’re planning a trip to California any time soon, I’d strongly recommend making a stop in Carpinteria.
