Holy cow, how is it February? I feel like it was just Christmas. We’ve been getting our fair share of bad weather here lately and it’s been such a drag. I haven’t wanted to shoot or write content or do anything really. I’m also still going strong with my fitness program so I haven’t really wanted to buy any new clothes lately. That hasn’t stopped me from stocking up on beauty products though! I’ve been getting a lot of questions about my lip colors lately so I wanted to share my top 6 favorite neutral lip colors with you.
Back in 2014 I was really into the bold lipstick trend and I’ve toned it down quite a bit in recent years. These neutral lip colors are all very wearable and will look great on all skin tones. Some of these shades I’m on my second or third tube while others I’ve just added my collection.
It’s described as a “deep tone beige” and is a great everyday neutral. It’s a matte formula but it’s not as drying as a typical matte lipstick would be.
It’s a “nude pink” that gives you that perfect, barely there look. It has a matte formula but it has a long lasting, buildable and hydrating formula. It’s on the pricier side ($34) but it is definitely a great product. This is has been voted one of the best neutral lip colors around.
This “Lovestruck cranberry” hue is new to my collection. It has a comfortable satin finish that I love. It’s great for adding a pop of color without being over the top.
4. MAC – Brave
This shade is described as a “pink-beige with white pearl”. I definitely don’t notice hints of pearl in it at all and have been wearing this shade for about 2 years + now. It’s more of a barely there pink hue on me with a soft satin finish.
It’s a cool, “mauvey-grey” color with a satin finish and it is what I wear more often than not. I always get tons of compliments on this color and have bought 2 extra tubes of it for my collection. It’s one of my favorite neutral lip colors and it can easily take you from day to night.
6. MAC – Faux
I first tried this “muted mauve pink” a few years back when Kylie Jenner’s lip color was all the rage on Pinterest. It again is a smooth satin finish and it’s very similar to Salt Lyfe, just a tad warmer.
Here I’ve swatched them all for you in outdoor lighting to give you a better idea what they look like:
