One of the most frequently asked questions I get is how I edit my photos for Instagram. I can tell you, I’ve gone through a ton of trial and error but it wasn’t until I found Dreamy Presets Millenial Pink preset pack that I really saw a transformation in my feed. Some of you might be wondering, what is a preset? A preset is like a filter that applies a series of edits to a photo with the click of the button. Let me just preface this by saying that there is no perfect preset. Some, if not all, photos may require additional tweaking to get them to look how you want. I’ve tried several different presets and photo editing apps but Millenial Pink is my absolute favorite hands down. In addition to using a preset, here are 5 other tips to help you start taking better photos.
Before Using the Millenial Pink Preset
seek good lighting
Lighting can make or break your photos. Photos that are too bright will lose a lot of detail and photos that are too dark can appear grainy. If shooting indoors, try opening your blinds and/or shooting near a window to give your shots the best lighting. When shooting outdoors, avoid harsh sunlight and try to find a spot in the shade to snap your photo instead. If you must shoot in the sun make sure your back is to the light to avoid harsh shadows.

pay attention to detail
A cluttered background can really derail the focus of your photo. Pay attention to any unnecessary objects, people and general clutter in the background of your photos. Remove anything that may distract your viewers from your photos before shooting.
know your best poses and angles
When you first start taking photos of yourself it can be very uncomfortable. Take inspiration from some of your other favorite bloggers and Instagrammers and find what poses work for you. There are are clearly some that do not work for me.
take multiple shots
One of the best things about digital photography is that we can shoot an unlimited number of photos (device space permitting). Some of the best and most natural photos have come from the shots “in between” the shots I was trying to get.
vary your setting and angles
Shooting in the same locations from the same angles can get old really quick. Not only for you, but for your followers. Mix things up by taking close up detail shots, full body shots, etc. and visiting new locations.
